Dear Parent,

Thank you very much for the items for our Summer Fayre that you sent in last Wednesday.

The Aspiration Project talk last week by Mr Williams was very successful and he has promised to return to visit Y6 after the World Cup and before The Commonwealth Games start!

Thank you for your continued support with attendance. It is now standing at 93.9% and is the best that it has been!

In our Early Bird attendance draw last week, the winners were Jacen Wickens and Roshan Malique. Congratulations to them! They both win a £5.00 WH Smiths gift card. We are waiting for replacement fridge magnets because we have used them quicker than anticipated! They have again been sponsored by Advanced Elastomer Systems Ltd (ExxonMobil Group).

I am sad to report that our Young Savers club has to end because the SHARE Centre are unable to run it anymore. All money currently held on account by children and adults can be collected from the Credit Union office in 5 Market Arcade High Street.

Years 1 and 2 are visiting the Welsh Hawking Centre on Wednesday.

Also on Wednesday, Classes 5/6P and 5/6PB are having a Dylan Thomas workshop.

We are starting a new programme of sports activities which combine literacy and numeracy this week and this is called ‘Play Learn Play’. Year 2 pupils will have their session on Thursday and Year 4 on Friday.

Summer Fayre

This takes place on Friday from 3.45pm. Please queue at the front of the school so that staff can dismiss children and then make their way to the stalls for the Fayre to start. We are pleased to accept any donations of prizes, toiletries or good quality toys, books and DVDs.

Please send in any cakes, samosas, pakoras or pies on Friday morning.

The Summer Fayre is always a great event and it has got bigger in recent years as we have had more adults to help. All money raised goes directly to benefit pupils. The weather forecast for Friday is good so it should be a great afternoon!

Thank you if you are one of the parents who has offered to run a stall. We desperately need some more parents to help for just few hours to run a stall, help with the bouncy castle or with refreshments and we would welcome any offers of help- you do not need to have attended a meeting of the Friends of St Woolos to do so. If you are able to help, please complete the attached form (if you haven’t already done so) or just contact Mrs Kidd in the office.

Thank you very much to Tesco Extra in Spytty, for their very generous donation of prizes for our Fayre!

We will be doing Mehndi Patterns on Friday so please complete and return the attached permission form if you would like your child to have this done. If you would like to pay in advance (50p) you are welcome to do so, but there is no obligation. These patterns are temporary and will fade and wash off after a few days.

Bonus Ball

There is a rollover this week.

Yours faithfully,
