Dear Parent/Carer,

Class RD Assembly

Well done to every one in Mrs Dickenson’s class who took part in Friday’s class assembly! Thank you also if you were able to join them for that.

Visit to the Museum

On Tuesday, children in classes 3/4M, 3/4J and 4/5B are visiting Newport

Museum as part of their Big Write preparation.

Cricket Workshops

Our after school Cricket Workshops run by Newport Cricket Club, continue this Wednesday.

County in the  Community Football Club

A new after school Football Club run by County in the Community for Key Stage 2 pupils will be starting this Thursday and will finish in the last week of term, in July. (They have a separate letter about this.)

If it is successful, and there is regular attendance, it will continue during the 2018-19 school year. We are really lucky that they are starting this club with us because they will only be trialling it in a few schools, so, thank you County in the Community!

The South Wales Argus

The South Wales Argus have asked us to be School of the Week and a photographer and journalist will be visiting us on Friday morning.

Sponsorship

Following my recent request in the newsletter, please let us know if you can suggest any businesses whom we could approach for sponsorship of some school activities or equipment or for fundraising match funding.

The Friends of St Woolos

The Friends of St Woolos will be meeting on Mon 21st May 2.45pm. Anyone who would like to help with our fayre, either during the week beforehand, at home or on the day, is welcome to join us. If you are unable to attend the meeting but would like to help, or if you have any good fundraising ideas or suggestions for stalls in our Summer Fayre on Friday 29th June, please let us know.

Ramadan

Ramadan, the period of fasting and prayer for Muslim pupils, starts this week. If your child will be part-fasting (usually only Y5 or Y6 pupils), please let us know in writing so that we can make arrangments at lunchtime.

Attendance and Punctuality

Thank you for continuing to improve punctuality first thing in the morning. There were 27 children arriving late last week.

Last week the attendance was 95.6%.

Congratulations

Congratulations to Miss Spearey and family on the safe arrival of baby Eidee Elizabeth who arrived recently weighing in at 6lb 15ozs!

Mother and daughter are both doing well!

Bonus Ball
